More Great news!

Hello Again!

I have some more very exciting news to share. (Drum Roll Please!) I have been chosen as a member of the Islands Creative Escape's Design Team! I am very much looking forward to this new adventure.

Since everything had to remain top secret until after the decision was made I can now proudly share my project submission. So without further adieu.....

P.S.
I have also decided to submit these wonderful girls in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and don't forget to check out my newer post as I will be submitting a few more projects for the same SSS challenge.

Have a wonderful day!

I started with three of these in the sizes Small, Medium and Large.

Next I did a little tape paper mache to create trees and branches along with some die cutting.

Once the trees were in place I got out my trusty hot glue gun and attached all the elements. The die cuts were colored in and the whimsical fairy is my own original design.

For the outside of my shadow boxes I decided to keep it cohesive by giving them the same tin roof and wood embossed sides.

(Fairy Woods)

(Coffee House Girl)

(Art Studio)

For my Coffee house I envisioned an old fashioned interior. I made ceiling beams and decorated the inside panels to give the illusion of wallpaper. Lastly, I included the bookshelf, the rug, the door and books before adding another one of my original whimsical girls.

I think of all the three the Art Studio was the most fun to make and definitely one of my favorites.

So there you have it my friends my three little houses. If you have any questions about anything you've seen in this post please be sure to leave me a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Have a wonderful Monday!

Shaker Card Party!

Hello Darlings!

I was recently inspired by another blog challenge and although I decided not to participate I still wanted to play along just for fun.

First off I'd like to share this little notebook I created using the Fuse tool by We R Memory Keepers products, Heidi Swapp paper, and Theresa Collins sequence. I then created some signatures which I sewed by hand.

Next I created this sweet little card using a vintage photo that I printed and colored by hand. I just love how it turned out!

Here I played with my newest Mama Elephant stamp set to make a shaker card. I chose a different method for the shaker card portion, instead of using foam tape and a transparency I used my Memory Keepers Fuse tool and a pocket sleeve.

Project #2 - Hero Arts Fabulous Floral Challenge

Hello Darlings,

I would like to share Project #2 which is this adorable little Vintage inspired whimsical doll.

Once again I used the Hero Arts Old Letter stamp on her skirt and did a little distressing. The flower in her hair was made with felt. Overall I think she turned out very cute.

Hero Arts Fabulous Floral Challenge

Hello Friends,

I have a new project for you today! I created this cute little wall hanging as the first of a two projects that I have entered for the Hero Arts Fabulous Floral Challenge.

I used the Hero Arts Old Letter Writing stamp and the Hero Arts Crafts Tree Trunk stamp on the background in Archival Ink and then I did some embossing in metallic pewter. The flowers are my own original design created with texture paste and colored in with water colors.

Day #5: SSS Recycle/Upcycle Challenge - Vintage Canning Jar Storage

Hello Once Again!

It's Day 5 which means my final project is complete. For this project I went for a little Vintage Decor. I used an old food jar to store my embroidery threads but I felt that it needed a little something extra so I decorated the lid for a touch of pretty.

Day #4: SSS Recycle/Upcycle Challenge - Whimsy Girl Tag

Hello Friends,

Day 4 is here! With this project I pretty much rummaged through my craft space for a few pieces of this and that to make this adorable little tag. What I found was a scrap piece of floral paper, an old embossed scrap piece, a small remnant of burlap, a packing insert for some Tim Holtz ribbon and an old coffee filter. All pieces were destined for the trash and one or two were literally already in there (luckily the trash can in my craft space is full of nothing but paper). The whimsical girl is my own original design drawn on water color paper.

Day #3: SSS Recycle/Upcycle Challenge - Stamp Binder

Hello Again,

Today is Day 3 of the Simon Says Stamp Upcycle Challenge which means it's time to share project #3! For my third Project I used an old cereal box to complete something that was on my to do list which was to create a "binder" for some of my stamps, specifically my Tim Holtz stamps. Everyone has there own way of staying organized when it comes to their craft space and one of the things I do that works for me is to store my non-wood mounted stamps in binders. I know Tim Holtz makes a binder specifically for his stamps but it wouldn't work me at this time. I think it's important that everyone learns what will work for them. :)

Materials used: Binder rings, Velcro

Day #2: SSS Recycle/Upcycle Challenge - Easter Banner

Today I' am continuing the Simon Says Stamp Upcycle challenge with a cute little Easter banner I created using Junk Mail! I found a few Bed Bath & Beyond flyers and since they come printed on what feels like a light weight cardboard they make for great tags or in my case banner backgrounds.

Project #2

Materials used were pieces I already had on hand like some old tissue paper and ribbon that I sprayed with some Tim Holtz Distress Spray in Tea Dye.

Day #1: SSS Recycle/Upcycle Challenge - Fox Den

Happy Sunday!

Today I am trying to catch up on some late post so there will be lots to see! The first thing I would like to share is one of five entries for the Simon Says Stamp Recycle/Upcycle challengeI have to admit that at first I was a little stumped since I had just cleaned my house when I read about the challenge so I really didn't have anything I could use. Luckily I did find something and once I got started I had so much fun it was a little hard to stop. I honestly think this was a great challenge and I wish more people would upcycle.

Project #1 - A Fox Den created using an empty water gallon that was on its way to the recycling bin.
