Graphic 45 City Scapes | Mini Album

Hey Everyone!,

Someone once said "All good things must come to an end" and so it has...this my friends is my last DT project for The Islands Creative Escape design team which has sadly ended. It has been fun and I created some beautiful projects with paper lines that I may not have otherwise had a chance to play with so for that I am grateful. For this final project I was given the G45 (Graphic 45) City Scapes paper line and a Maya Road 5x7 chipboard album, although this was a small album it was packed with plenty of spaces for photos and journaling. Here are some close up photos and a video.

Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Art Journal | Bright Circus Page

Hi Friends!

I know it's been a while since my last post but I am here today to share a video I created of one of my art journal pages. I felt like playing with some supplies that were just laying around my desk. It was pretty fun to play with bright colors as it is something I don't normally do. Inspired by the Avery Elle stamp I decided to do a circus theme. I think my favorite part is the balancing elephant in the upper left corner. :)  If you enjoy this video and you'd like to see more videos don't forget to subscribe to my blog and YouTube channel!

Authentique and Project Life make for a "Fabulous" photo album!

Hello Everyone!

Here again to share one more design team project. This time I'm using Authentique's Fabulous collection! Unfortunately, because these type of projects are due within a certain time frame and that becomes my main focus and I really don't think about making a process video. But I am glad that at least I remember to make these flip through videos! :)  Anyway, I really hope you like what you see. Thanks again for stopping by and don't forget to SUBSCRIBE!

In case you haven't already noticed the change I am referring to is the blogs name. Formally known as DomesticSimplicity.blogspot.com this blog is now AdriBellaDesigns.blogspot.com.

This is the only change that is being made as of now. I really hope you guys like the new name and I will back soon with more projects to share.

Hello Friends,

I'm back again with another project to share! Today I'm sharing my design team project number three. For this project I used Prima's Memory Hardware Chipboard album by Frank Garcia and the Carta Bella Old World Travel paperline. Unfortunately I fell behind schedule with this one so I was in a bit of a rush to turn it once it was completed that I didn't really take any photos but I did make a quick video! Here it is below I hope you like it.

Journals, Journals and more Journals!

Happy Tuesday!

If you've had a chance to view my previous post you would have seen my latest Design Team project. I spent all of last week working on it but I was glad that it turned out just as I hoped. This week I am left with the aftermath (Ugh!)..

As I was cleaning up my mess I also found myself reorganizing some of my art journals. Boy, I never realized just how many Art Journals I have! The picture below doesn't even include the five additional journals that were out of reach.

I really enjoy making my own journals and they all vary in size and paper type. However whenever I do need to purchase a journal my main concern is if they can sustain all the gesso, paint, etc. One particular journal I like to use is The Dylusions Art Journal by Ranger as it is inexpensive and decent quality.

Most of these aren't completed but some are close..hahaha...

So because we are discussing Art journals today I thought I would share a quick little tutorial for a quick simple journal that can be made at a moments time with little supplies.

Step 1: Gather your supplies

- One sheet of 12x12 scrapbook paper or anything similar that can be cut to size as it will be used for the cover.
- Twine or embroidery floss
- Hole Punch
- Corner Rounder
- Score Board & Bone Folder
- Heavy Cardstock or Basic Printer paper will do especially if you don't use to many wet mediums
- Scissors

(I used We R Memory keepers, Martha Stewart, Hemp Chord, Cutter Bee scissors and Prima paper)

Step 2: Score all your blank sheets of paper in half and stack one inside the other to form one thick signature. (At this time you will want to trim your paper accordingly if you should decide to make a journal of a size that differs from the standard 8.5 x 11)

Step 3: Repeat step 2 with the sheet of paper that is to be used as your cover

Step 4: Make two marks toward the center of the page about 1.5 in. from each edges and then punch holes where you made your mark. (Repeat these steps for your cover sheet)

Step 5: Run the twine twice through both holes (make sure your cover sheet is in place) then tie off.

And there you go! A quick and easy art journal for any day of the week. You can also use this as a type of planner.  I hope you enjoyed today's post and don't forget if you like what you see please subscribe to my blog and you can also follow me on YouTube.

DT Project #2 All Done!

Hello Friends,

As I've mentioned before I currently design for a local scrapbook store called The Creative Escape and my DT box for April was full of amazing Tim Holtz goodies! Now for those who don't already know I am a big fan of Mr. Holtz, so you can probably imagine how excited I was to work on this project.

It started with a plain Ideology Folio and it became a fun little place for beautiful family photos. Sadly though this wonderful little project had to be given back and I don't know if it's just me, but sometimes it's not easy having to part with these projects. Just below are a few photos and here is a link to my YouTube channel for a quick flip through video that I took literally last minute.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge #5

Hello Darlings,

Thank you so much for joining me today for the reveal of my fifth and final entry of the SSS Monday Challenge I really hope you liked my journal pages. If you have any questions about anything you have seen on this blog feel free to leave a comment below. Don't forget to sign up by email so that you won't miss out on any new posts to come!

So for the background on these pages I used some craft paper for the base then added gesso and paint. For texture I used tape and corrugated cardboard.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge #4

Hello,

I guess I'm doing a lot art journal sharing these days because I have another page for you guys. Once again this also is an entry to the SSS Monday Challenge. I will keep this post short and sweet as I still have one final post in regards to this challenge.

The background on these journal pages are full of texture. These pages are some of the first journal entries in this book and I guess I had to much fun spraying and inking everything..Hahaha.. I used ribbon and fabric strips for the quote in addition to distressing etc. I don't even know if I can recall all the different techniques that may have been used. My most favorite thing though is the vintage photo!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Entry #3

Hello Friends,

Another day another entry! My third submission for the SSS Monday Challenge is another page from my art journal. My art journal is a great place to experiment with new techniques and to just LET GO and DO instead of THINK. The way I see it each new page is an opportunity to just make a mess and see where it takes me. Sometimes I create something I don't like at all but as I build layers it eventually turns into something I'm satisfied with. I do try to create my pages from start to finish but it doesn't always happen that way. I also tend to work on multiple journals at once. For example if I have any excess medium that I don't want to waste I will apply it to the pages of another journal and  then I can come back to it later.

Here is an example of what I meant when I said I like to just DO and not think. I started with a blank page that I covered in white gesso. I had no real idea of what I wanted to do or what colors I was going to use. I did however have an idea of what mediums I wanted to use so I gathered my supplies and just played. This spread is the result of scrap tissue, washi tape, India ink and water color. It has become one of my favorite pages because of its simplicity.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Entry #2

Happy Saturday!

It's cold and it's rainy today so that means LAZY SATURDAY! Well lazy is a bit of an understatement because there is so much to do around the house. So with a nice cup of freshly made coffee (loving my Chemex btw!) in hand all I need now is my art journal. Speaking of which, before I go I want to share my second submission for the Simon Says Stamp Make Your Own Background Challenge which is a page from my art journal.

The background is a combo of paint, stamping and an old piece of shelf paper.

First DT project using Kaisercraft Storybook!

Hi Friends,

I'm back today to share my first design team project for The Creative Escape. I had so much fun working on this, especially because it's been a while since I've made a mini album. The paper line I was given was the new Kaisercraft Storybook collection along with a 5x7 Maya Road chipboard album.

I decided to approach each page of the album as if I were creating a double page layout. I then took Walnut Stain distress paint and painted all around the edges followed some distressing with Archival Ink in the color Potting Soil and Dew Drop's Galaxy Gold. Next for a more unified look I used black cardstock as the base for every page.

More Great news!

Hello Again!

I have some more very exciting news to share. (Drum Roll Please!) I have been chosen as a member of the Islands Creative Escape's Design Team! I am very much looking forward to this new adventure.

Since everything had to remain top secret until after the decision was made I can now proudly share my project submission. So without further adieu.....

P.S.
I have also decided to submit these wonderful girls in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and don't forget to check out my newer post as I will be submitting a few more projects for the same SSS challenge.

Have a wonderful day!

I started with three of these in the sizes Small, Medium and Large.

Next I did a little tape paper mache to create trees and branches along with some die cutting.

Once the trees were in place I got out my trusty hot glue gun and attached all the elements. The die cuts were colored in and the whimsical fairy is my own original design.

For the outside of my shadow boxes I decided to keep it cohesive by giving them the same tin roof and wood embossed sides.

(Fairy Woods)

(Coffee House Girl)

(Art Studio)

For my Coffee house I envisioned an old fashioned interior. I made ceiling beams and decorated the inside panels to give the illusion of wallpaper. Lastly, I included the bookshelf, the rug, the door and books before adding another one of my original whimsical girls.

I think of all the three the Art Studio was the most fun to make and definitely one of my favorites.

So there you have it my friends my three little houses. If you have any questions about anything you've seen in this post please be sure to leave me a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Have a wonderful Monday!

Shaker Card Party!

Hello Darlings!

I was recently inspired by another blog challenge and although I decided not to participate I still wanted to play along just for fun.

First off I'd like to share this little notebook I created using the Fuse tool by We R Memory Keepers products, Heidi Swapp paper, and Theresa Collins sequence. I then created some signatures which I sewed by hand.

Next I created this sweet little card using a vintage photo that I printed and colored by hand. I just love how it turned out!

Here I played with my newest Mama Elephant stamp set to make a shaker card. I chose a different method for the shaker card portion, instead of using foam tape and a transparency I used my Memory Keepers Fuse tool and a pocket sleeve.

Project #2 - Hero Arts Fabulous Floral Challenge

Hello Darlings,

I would like to share Project #2 which is this adorable little Vintage inspired whimsical doll.

Once again I used the Hero Arts Old Letter stamp on her skirt and did a little distressing. The flower in her hair was made with felt. Overall I think she turned out very cute.
